Power in Unity – By God's Will
A Call to All Health Professionals of Ethiopia
A Call to All Health Professionals of Ethiopia
To Interns:
Do not fear the intimidation of selfish and immoral seniors who have betrayed the soul of our profession for personal gain. If they attempt to abuse or silence you, stop working and speak openly with your family—they will stand with you. The only weapon they may use is delaying your graduation, but even that will fail if we stand united. If even one intern is punished unjustly, all interns and residents must rise in solidarity. Unity is our shield. Together, we are untouchable.
To Residents:
You are not alone. If you face exploitation or injustice, do not suffer in silence. Join hands with one another. When one resident is mistreated, the others must not stand by. Let your voice be one voice, strong and unwavering. Together, you can protect each other and lift the profession out of the mud of slavery and fear.
To Employed Health Professionals:
They may try to control you with fear—threatening your job, your license, or your future. But what job is worth keeping if it strips away your dignity and pays less than a shoeshine boy or daily laborer? You were trained to heal, not to be slaves in a broken system. If we unite, they cannot fire us all. If we rise together, we will not fall. And when we win, you will return to your profession as a hero—with better pay, deeper respect, and the dignity you deserve.
To Unemployed Health Professionals:
We carry you in our hearts. We are deeply sorry for your pain—for having studied one of the most difficult and noble fields, only to be left jobless by a failed and corrupt system. Ethiopia needs thousands more health workers to meet even the most basic standards, but instead of investing in you, the government has abandoned you. Your unemployment is not your fault—it is a symptom of a system in decay.
This fight is also your fight. Do not let your desperation be used by the government to weaken our struggle. Do not become a tool in their hands to divide us or to silence the cry for justice. When we win—and we will win—you will gain what you were denied: employment with dignity, a fair salary, and the honor of serving your people in freedom, not in chains.
Let this be the generation that said enough.
Enough fear. Enough abuse. Enough slavery.
From the intern to the resident, from the unemployed graduate to the overworked employed professionals—let us rise together, speak together, fight together.
Enough fear. Enough abuse. Enough slavery.
From the intern to the resident, from the unemployed graduate to the overworked employed professionals—let us rise together, speak together, fight together.
Because power lies in unity—by God's will.
