Concerns Over Censorship and Unfair Treatment by Dire Dawa Administration Health Bureau
The Dire Dawa Administration Health Bureau’s practice of deleting health professionals’ comments while permitting only positive feedback is an alarming suppression of legitimate concerns. Such actions undermine transparency and democratic discourse, reflecting an authoritarian approach to governance.
We, the health professionals of Dire Dawa, are raising essential demands; not for luxuries, but for the basic rights and fair compensation necessary for our survival and the effective delivery of healthcare services.
Dr. Tsigereda, Head of the Dire Dawa Regional Health Bureau (DDRHB), along with other officials, must cease any punitive measures against our colleagues.
Once regarded as a respected leader, your recent conduct has been marked by disregard for ethical governance and the welfare of healthcare workers. We urge you to immediately rectify these unlawful, unethical, and inappropriate actions. Failure to do so will inevitably lead to accountability for the consequences of these decisions.
We will no longer tolerate incompetence and dismissive leadership. This is not just our struggle; it is a matter of dignity and justice for all health professionals in Dire Dawa and Ethiopia at large. Fair compensation and respect for our sacrifices are non-negotiable. We serve the people of Dire Dawa with dedication; opposing our legitimate demands is tantamount to opposing the well-being of the community we serve.
We expect prompt and meaningful action.
